Biocontrol

Biological control can be defined as the deliberate use of natural enemies – predators, parasites, pathogens, chemical mediators (pheromones), natural substances of mineral, plant or animal origin and competitors to suppress and maintain populations of a target pest species (insects, mites, weeds, plant pathogens, and other pest organisms). This biocontrol unit is undertaking advanced and applied research on microbial pesticides, botanical pesticides and predators.
